I'm a Spanish teacher and I founded PBC Languages (People Building Connections) to help people connect with others, through language.
Exchanges are free. Nobody funds us: this is paid for by the subscriptions in the tutoring program and by contributions like yours.

🛠️ AI maintenance and improvements 280 €▾
I use an AI that helps me fix problems right away, make the site faster, add new languages and build things like the reminders or the chat. Without it I would need to hire developers, which would cost far more.
🎥 Unlimited video calls 60 €▾
We could use a free tool like Google Meet, but it cuts off after one hour and everyone would have to create and paste their own link, which is confusing for people less used to technology. We pay so you press one button and talk as long as you want.
💬 WhatsApp reminders 60 €▾
There are a lot of us now, and when someone doesn't show up, the other person loses their time and their motivation to come back. Every confirmation and reminder message is paid to WhatsApp, but it makes almost every exchange actually happen.

- Server: the machine the website lives on, running 24 hours for everyone.
- Server speed: we pay for more power so pages open fast.
- Domain and emails: the website address and the email notifications.
- Payment fees: the payment platform keeps a small cut of every payment so that paying is safe.
